Arsenal Host Wolves in Crucial English Top Division Clash

All eyes turn for a compelling top-flight matchup as front-runners the Gunners entertain rock-bottom Wolverhampton Wanderers to the their home ground.

Confirmed Sides

The visitors also make three changes to their lineup after being soundly beaten 4-1 at Molineux by United on Monday evening. Matt Doherty, João Gomes and the South Korean forward start. Hoever and Arias drop to the substitutes, while Jean‐Ricner Bellegarde is omitted altogether.

The Setup

Welcome! Because, c’mon …

The standings tells a clear story. Arsenal sit proudly at the pinnacle of the table, while Wolves anchor the league.

… yet while this will be the 42nd time the Premier League leaders have faced the team propping up the entire table – with 30 out of 41, with seven tied games – who are responsible for two of the four all-time upsets? Why, Wolverhampton Wanderers, that’s who! Therefore, although the Arsenal manager will surely be expecting another three points, the Wolves boss must know that underdogs occasionally find the target, and anything is possible. The start is at 8pm GMT. The action is imminent!

(The remaining bottom-beats-top wins in the modern top-flight era are Oldham Athletic's 1-0 win over United in March 1993, and Tottenham Hotspur – admittedly, this one sounds a bit weird - beating Liverpool in November 2008.)
