Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
US entertainer Finn, who featured in beloved television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
