Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
