Jurgen Klopp states coming back to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that a future comeback remains something that could happen. Klopp, post a game-changing near-decade reign featuring a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, has since taken on positions overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, but many fans who adore the manager would embrace the possibility that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he told Steven Bartlett: “I stated I refuse to lead another team within the country. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“At 58 years old, which suggests I might decide in a few years, who knows. Must I choose now? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I can just see what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding which situations would have to unfold to bring him back to the dugout, he revealed he isn't eager to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I avoid standing during downpours for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, however, dining out alongside the squad having a nice chat, is pleasant. Success was frequent thus frequently positive atmosphere around the place. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears for example.”

Praise for His Successor

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the adjustments which secured the championship last campaign. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the notion of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, excellent performer. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, and its impact at the club. The forward died tragically in a car crash together with his sibling this past summer.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it's his character. It's hard to picture the team environment without him in it. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A devastating blow for all the boys too. No one within the club would cite it for poor performances yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that on a personal level is not easy. Impossible.”
