Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in an LA Traffic Collision
The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.
Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.
The influential video game developer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
